Div Com reviews developmental works in Sopore | KNO

Gives directions on construction of Minis Secretariat, MCH, Vending zone, Bus Adda

SRINAGAR, MAY 02 (KNO) : Divisional Commissioner Baseer Ahmad Khan today reviewed various developmental works undergoing in Sopore and also gave directions to expedite the work in key projects for greater and immediate benefit of the people.

The Div Com reviewed the project during a meeting that was also attended by DDC Baramulla via video conferencing and officials representing various departments were present at the meeting. Senior citizens and representatives of civil society Sopore were also present in the meeting. The Div Com was informed that for establishing of a minis secretariat a chunk of land has been identified and a DPR of Rs 13.95 crores has been prepared. He directed the DDC to submit the DPR along with all other documents to Div Com office so that the same can be speedily approved.

He said that the construction of mini secretariat will go a long way in delivering government services to the public in an efficient manner. Regarding establishing of Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Hospital, the Div Com directed the health officials to send the report for establishing of same so that it will be approved at the earliest. The Div Com also directed the officials to inspect on ground and survey three already identified locations for the creation of vending zones. He said that once the report gives a green signal for best possible location, all vendors will be shifted to that location and Sopore town will be decongested.

The Div Com also directed the DDC Baramulla to send the DPR for the creation of new Bus Adda in the town that can accommodate all the passenger buses. He said that together with new road projects the town will soon have smooth transport services and bereft of frequent traffic jams. The Div Com also directed the DDC to identify the locations for the creation of garbage dumping site in the town.
